Optimum conditions of operation — because the salt meter was calibrated at 20°C, it is recommended that the tested liquid has a similar temperature during the test.

Just to pour the tested brine into the measuring cylinder (an amount that allows for the free immersion of the float) and then read the result. After inserting the areometer into the measuring cylinder, the result is read directly from the clear coloured scale as the concentration of the solution ([g] of salt per 1 litre of water). Caution! The salt meter was calibrated at 20°C, therefore the tested liquid should have the same temperature.
