Plastic Airlock for Wine and Beer Making
Simply add water to your Airlock and view bubbles as your beer or wine is fermenting.
Plastic airlock, transparent, for carboys, for wine, for liquor fermentation
The airlock made of high quality PVC material is a product that simply needs to be included in the accessories of every enthusiast of home production of liquor. The airlock is characterised by high strength, has been approved for contact with food and features a certificate of the National Institute of Hygiene (PZH). Its design features large bubbles that ensure slower evaporation of water during fermentation. The airlock is adjusted to the opening featured on the rubber stoppers for carboys, as well as on jars, and fermentation containers. Using our airlock ensures a successful batch. An airlock filled with water is used in the fermentation process in order to protect the batch content against oxygenation, while at the same time enabling regular emission of carbon dioxide produced in the process taking place. Thanks to the moving water gauge we can notice the changing intensity of the fermentation process - from the turbulent stage (intensive bubbling) to the stationary one. Water evaporation is natural, which is why it is necessary to remember to top it up in the airlock. Additionally, the airlock protects the batch against fruit flies that might get to the inside and which may, in turn, introduce acetate bacteria that change ethanol into acetic acid. NOTE: in case of limited possibility to check the water level in the airlock, it can be filled with an oily liquid that evaporates to a lesser degree.

Does the job quite well. My only complaint is that the plastic is a bit flimsy, making the airlock easy to break during those times when you have to twist or pull firmly when inserting or removing the airlock. (I've lost two or three of them this way.) Despite that, a very effective airlock, and recommended.
There is not a lot that can go wrong with an Airlock, but I'm definitely happy with this set of Airlocks and the price is pretty good too, compared to buying the same product in a brewing supply store. For those of you not very familiar with Airlocks, this is a device that is needed when brewing things like beer, wine, meads, etc. You fill it with water up to the line half way across the two bubbles and you place it on top of your fermentation vessel. The airlock will allow the gas from the fermentation to escape while keep air and contaminants out.
Las uso para la segunda fermentación en la elaboración del vino. Cumplen su función a la perfección. Son compactas, se lavan facilmente, se ajustan bien al agujero del tapón. I use them for the second fermentation in winemaking. They fulfill their function perfectly. They are compact, they wash easily, they fit well to the plug hole.
Es IST eine einfach even Plastikkonstruktion, die ihrer Zweck erfüllt. Kann auch mal auf den Boden fallen one zu zerbrechen
These airlocks arrived perfectly and came packaged simply. The airlocks are made ffrom a fairly thick plastic and they seem as if they will last forever if not abused. They are very easy to fit into a grommit and are the exact size of the rubber grommets I own. Once in the grommit, they are secure and there's no chance of them slipping down or getting pushed out by a violent fermentation. They have been easy to maintain, a quick wash under the tap after use keeps them clean and ready for the next sterilising session. When I've had a particularly vicious fermentation and the brew has got into the bubbler, a more thorough wash is required with a strong jet of water from the tap. They come up clean every time, no matter how soiled they get. I have been using these the whole time I have been brewing and they have never let me down once. I see these as better than the glass ones as there is no risk of them breaking when dropped or under high pressure from the co2 of a violent fermentation. I have tried the new sealed sterilock and although it's a good idea I was put off by the fact that they aren't suitable to be submerged in sterilizer for prolonged periods of time and I had a bit of a funny brew happen with a sterilock, so I have stuck to the trusty old fashioned bubbler. You really can't go wrong with these and they are an essential bit of kit. I always recommend having a spare or two just in case, although I have never had one go wrong on me yet!
