I spent time inventing a way of keeping the cupboard in which I fermented the mash warm. Not necessary! The fermentation is so strong that it generates its own heat. Very pleased with it.
Really does work quickly. You can ferment strong beer in just a few days but be careful that you leave more than the usual space above the beer in your fermenting bin as it froths like mad and will spill out if you don’t. No difference in taste noticed once beer was ready to drink compared to regular yeast.
25 Ltr brewed successfully with this yeast. 48 hours to brew might be technically possible if you want to get drunk on a cloudy brew. But, if you want all sugar to fully ferment and also clear the yeast without using finings to clear it, you are looking at weeks to brew it, not days.
Brilliant stuff. Stronger than any yeast I've used before - and with less of that "yeasty" taste. So I tend to use it for ciders and meads. Managed to make 5L of STRONG mead with this stuff. Think I used about 10g and it was horrifically strong after 2 weeks. Probably ought to have filtered it out.
